After reading of this concert in Scotland ... - Posted by appi
I may ask if Clannad will perform other concerts in Europe ?
I was never been on a concert but I have most all album of Clannad I could get during the past years.
My first impression of your music was the Soundtrach on "Robin".
I will wait if Clannad will come back to Central Europe in the next times.
regards
Uwe

have you seen clannad? - Posted by nessieq
hey there,
my dad saw clannad in belfast's ulster hall way back before i was born and it was the first time they performed harry's game after it had become famous, so it's always special to me when i get up to play in the ulster hall, thinking of who has stood on the same boards as i am. there's a big photo of clannad backstage, it looks very impressive.
does anyone else want to share their clannad experience?

A rare video recording of Clannad from 1975 - Posted by RoyBecker
In the music archive of TG4 (www.tg4.tv), there's a programme of 'Siar an Bothar' from August 31. A bit more than half way through the programme there's a video recording of Clannad performing the song "An Bealach Seo 'ta Romham", in the Pan-Celtic Song Competition in Killarney in 1975. To those of you who happen not to know this song, it was released only as a single, and was attached as a bonus track to the 1997 re-release of Clannad's first album.
Enjoy!!!

Need help finding origins of rare old Clannad live recording - Posted by toughdiamond
I have a cassette recording of a live Clannad gig from a TV show called "At The Embankment," ca. 1977. Apart from missing the first song of the session, I believe it to be the complete show, and the sound quality isn't bad. Some of the songs don't seem to have ever been officially released.
Can anybody tell me when and where this performance took place? I thought the Embankment was in London but I've seen a couple of video clips on YouTube of songs played "live at the Embankment, Tallaght."
(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnjP57cic70 and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CivmjbXXMz8)
Strangely, neither of those songs are on my recording, and as I'm pretty sure I only missed one song of the performance, I suspect there's more than one Embankment. One of those video clip soundtracks (the first one) sounds very much like my tape though.
I also have a recording of a Clannad performance at Wythenshawe, Manchester, which was broadcast on BBC radio a few days after the Embankment show.

Clannad - Hammersmith Odeon - Posted by TrevorKrueger
I went with my first wife to see Clannad at the Hammersmith Odeon (as it was then) in the 80's (I think) and was absolutely blown away by the sounds and the atmosphere. I loved them before and I have continued to love them since. They are unique and priceless. I am so delighted that they are coming back to tour again, let's hope that this time they stay with us for longer - no forever! The World is a much better place for the joy that their music brings to it. They certainly provide the soundtrack to my life and without it, the days would be much less colourful.
At that same concert they were supported by a single female performer. I think it was Mary Black? She played the most haunting melody on a synthesised flute. It was fantastic! If anyone knows who she was or what she was playing I would love to know so I can track it down and buy it.
Welcome Home Clannad - we love you to death!

Glasgow Concert 3 March 2008 - Posted by philly
I was at the concert last night with my husband, its the first time we've seen Clannad in concert and what a terrific performance. We didnt know what we were missing out on!!! and wish we had it to go to tonight again. We sat in the front row and enjoyed every single minute. So anyone who is thinking of going to a Clannad concert in the future, grab the tickets with both hands and hold on tight, they were fabulous!
Best wishes to Moya and the band on the rest of the tour, we wish you all well

Live Concert Brighton Mon 10th March 2008 - Posted by Martina
We went to the concert at Brighton last night. It was fantastic ! I thank my lucky stars we went. I was moved to tears - of joy and excitement. For over 30 years I have loved listening to Clannad -and at last here I was sitting only a few feet away listening to them playing live! I can honestly say that my husband & I thought it was the best live performance we have been to. Everyone on stage looked like they were enjoying themselves so much.We felt that we were privy to a singalong in someones front room -how amazing. We sang -well tried to sing all the way home! Thankyou Clannad -come back soon.

Harrogate 13/03/08 - Posted by Ted
What a wonderful night. It was really marvellous to see the group in action and to hear so many favourites performed live. Meeting you all afterwards was a real bonus. You were all so natural and friendly and prepared to talk to your fans as well as posing for photos with us. (and also thank you Maire for having the patience to wait while I persuaded my wife to turn the mobile round and photograph us rather than her eye). Please don't leave if for 12 years before coming back. I was also very impressed with Sephira. They are a very talented group and deserve to do well.

Clannad Concert in Antwerp,Belgium on wednesday April,30 2008 - Posted by JLL
Fantastic show of Clannad yesterday evening April,30 2008 in Antwerp !!
We had the privilege to see live : Moya and Ciaran Brennan, Noel and Padraig Duggan and a very professional band in which the drummer is a highflyer !!
They played for more than 1,5 hours surfing on their early albums, starting the concert with Newgrange and enchanting the 1500 fans, happy to see this reunion !!
I recommand strongly not to miss this tour passing along your country !! Slainte !

Celtic Connections Clannad Concert - Posted by jennifer
The concert was absolutely fantastic Moya and Padaraig were in good spirits. I loved the banter with Padraig accusing Moya of talking too much - made audience laugh.
Moya looked stunning in her pink ponchoo and her singing was beautiful. I had to pinch myself to make sure I was really there sitting in the audience. The band played all the traditional celtic songs and they sounded absolutely brilliant when it came to the harmoies. I felt so lucky to attend this concert.
Half way through the concert, the band was joined by a new band member called Paul, I nearly jumped out of seat with excitment because I thought it was Pol Brennen, but on a second look it wasn't him ( or I might be wrong) , but my god he sounded good when he sang with Moya on "in a Lifetime". Is this guy joining the group officially.
My only disappointment was that the show was too short. I wanted to hear more songs.
I saw the BBC TV cameras were filming the concert. Are they going to put the concert on DVD?
Just one other thing I am a black girl who is the biggest Clannad fan and i was only black personin the concert ( I think) Are there any other black or asian people who love Clannad like I do. Please talk to me.
I can sse on the News page that Clannad will be playing in Ireland I will try and get concert tickets for that ine as well. i hope to see you all out there !!!
