recommend d it highly - Posted by angelaben
I watched season 3 on video on demand from showtime. It was great watching the whole season straight through without waiting a week in between each one. I'm not sure I could have waited between shows to know what happened! The show gets better and better all the time. This season had Dexter making friends with the assistant DA who was played by Jimmy Smits. It begins with Dexter killing his brother kind of by accident but of course the d.a. doesn't know that part and wants him to find the killer since he shows such a talent for helping out in that department. Interesting concept, huh. Find the killer when you are the killer! Does this deter Dexter from becoming his friend anyway? Not a bit. This season also has Rita pregnant. Will Dexter do the right thing and marry her? Or better yet, SHOULD he marry her? I mean what is going to happen when there is a little Dexter around? Willlbig Dextertake him to soccer games or to the shooting range? It will be interesting seeing what kind of daddy Dexter makes! Jimmy Smit plays his role well and it's funny watching poor old Dexter trying to become a friend to someone when the concept is so alien to him. But we want him to have a friend as bad as he wants one, because we truly like Dexter. He tries so hard to do the right thing by his friends and if it meant turning himself in rather than killing a friend, then we believe that is what he would do. He almost had to do that at the end of last season when Doaks figured out what he was...but one of the women who loved Dexter took care of the problem for him. Those women of his will always take care of Dexter when they can. And now that he's marrying one of them, she can't testify against him if she ever figures out what he is (not much chance of that since she considers him a great guy). But guess what...that thought has not crossed his mind yet. He's very naive where women are concerned. That just makes you like him more and you want those women there to protect him since you can't! Watch it, you'll love it!

Dear Moya - Posted by Isabell21
I'm still gathering information about You and Your band. Your music is an escapist source of relax, helps to forget about everything. There is not a whole year left to my graduation test, finishing my education. Then I'm supposed to go to university. I think about my close future a lot. And with every moment I'm more and more nervous… When some doubts appear in my mind, when I'm stressed, when I can't talk to anybody, I just realise that in my free time I can listen to Your songs and I do so in every occasion and it really helps. And then the world seems to be brighter, more simply. Now I can say that Clannad became a part of my life and showed me the Way… Lots of love, Isabell
P.S. And it all started with the most beautiful song I've ever heard - I Will Find You(now I have 3 versions)...

Moya- I love Your voice! - Posted by Isabell
Your songs are full of emotions, which give me power to overcome everyday problems. I'm 18 years old and I'm so fascinated by all Your songs. You can make that rainy day becomes sunny and beautiful. Since today I'm one of the members of the Forum. I don't know what to write, because I think that almost everything was written by Your fans. One thing I know is that You changed a lot of aspects in my life and thank You so much for that;)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank You - Posted by Bill
Bright the Havens. I just wanted to say thank you for dedication and hard work in expressing your magic via music. Poison Glen moves me and I feel reminded of something familiar in a far way land...like going/coming home. Yes I believe in magic and the little people.
I humbly ask, what was your inspiration to write the Poison Glen.
Again thank You. Peace and Serenity to you. *bow* -Bill :)

Celtic Connections-Glasgow/Macalla-Southport. - Posted by Merlin_Pirate_Pete
Dear Máire.
Don't know if you actually personally receive any of this mail, but here goes anyway.
Firstly Thankyou & the band again for such a beautiful gig on Friday at The Royal Concert Hall-Glasgow, you managed to reduce me to tears during Lady Marion. I don't usually like the accoustics of that venue, I've rarely seen a band that can fill the place with music to even at least a satisfactery level, so I was a little apprehensive prior to the concert. I needn't have been, you guys moved the place, an inch or two to the left I think, filled the room with beautiful sweet music, & wove into our hearts even more than before. Again thankyou so much!
I was the guy, Peter Ryan that's me, you met afterwards, who was talking about seeing you last time as a 15 year old in Southport on the Macalla tour, whom you invited back to your hotel bar with his friend for a chat, who then lived in Liverpool & with whom you corresponded with for a while afterwards. You said on Friday, "I bet if I looked I'd probably still have those letters".
I'd just like to tell you that you & the band on Friday night gave me a long awaited breakthrough of inspiration regarding my own music.
I have struggled for some years, not all the time, but there was a fairly constant feeling that I wasn't good enough or talented enough to even bother to try to make something substantial with my words & music. I go to many many gigs, some have moved me a lot, some have inadvertantly changed the direction of my life, but none have given me so much self belief in my own music before, at least not until Friday night. Also may I say, the care you have for your fans after gigs is a rare delight to behold, you were like that 20+ years ago, I remember vividly whilst chatting to you at your hotel in Southport, the fact that you invited us to your hotel at all. That kind of attitude has also been immensely inspirational, I shall always remember for my own life & the people I meet.
I play the guitar & bodhrán, so if you ever need my services I would gladly honour your wishes, infact I would jump at the chance to work with you.
Also if you could give me any good advice, or help as I fully embark on this road, it would be much appreciated. Meeting the right people I know will happen anyway, but 'If you don't ask, you don't get', right!?
I really do hope you get to read this, because I have been speaking from the heart. Yes it's something I don't have much trouble with, but I still put a lot into it.
So until the next time we meet or write, may your journey be one of Truth, Beauty, Freedom & Love.
Peace...
Peter O X

WHAT SHOULD I DO TO MEET YOU? - Posted by Isabell21
What should I do to meet You and talk to You? I love Your music but it's nothing new for You! After every visit here, after reading these short and these longer messages form Your fans I feel … jealous, so jealous and I cannot explain it. I'd like to meet all the band because You're so incredible! Probably I'm also jealous because it's impossible to say how Your music changed my worldview and I'm entering a new wonderful world with every sound of Your songs! And all people write to You so much and using so nice words. I cannot do it even if I wished it with all of my heart because Polish is my native language and my English isn't very fluent and grammatical! So all Your fans write so beautiful letters. My words - only more and more of them so what I can do for now is to join all these amazing messages and wish You every moment full of love and the ability to see only the bright side of life.
Can I have a hope to see you someday, somewhere? It's my biggest wish!
What can I say more? I've never before seen so much in music and nothing has ever before moved me so much as what You sing, even if I don't understand some words in Your songs, I just feel it and I think this is it! I'm going to be grateful to You for this for all of my life!

Thanks ... for so many years of gifted music - Posted by Clifton
Deay Moya,
This is perhaps the wrong place for this but I would just like to thank you and your family for the many years I have enjoyed the music of Clannad. I watched the Last of the Mohicans with Daniel Day Lewis way back in the 80's and was captured by your haunting voice in the short voice-over used in the original release. That led me to discover the other albums that Clannad has released and I have tried to collect them all since then. Many, many hours have I listened to your music since then, and though even now I may not understand every word of the Irish, the translations I have found help me to understand the meaning of the songs.
But, the reason I find myself keep popping your CDs into the player is this - it is very beautiful music. Your voice and the musical skills of your family have created something which will last long after we are all gone.
It may sound cliche'd but truly you and your family are gifted and I just wanted to extend a long overdue THANK YOU for what I have enjoyed all these years. And I do sincerely hope someone forwards this on to you and all concerned. In the Tennessee vernacular: Ya done good! And you deserve to know it.

A wonderful evening with Moya in Stuttgart - Posted by IrishGirlm
Last year in November I had the chance to see Moya live - for the first time! It was a wonderful evening; I enjoyed every moment of it. It was great to hear a few Clannad songs live - especially "Harry's Game". My fave was "Against The Wind" from Moya's first solo album.
After the show I had the possibility to meet Moya and chat with her a bit - she was very nice and when I gave my presents to her she was very touched. She asked me, whre I come from and wondered, that I got the long journey from my home to Stuttgart, just to see her. But it was a wonderful evening; I still have some photos of it to remember that - and I also got my copy of "The Other Side Of The Rainbow" and two of Moya's albums signed. I hope I can see Moya again some day.

Way back in the 70's - Posted by Cologne
As a teenager, I saw you quite often. First at he Irish folk festivals in Cologne, then at small venues in pubs (Tinnef , etc.) and as a b&b guest at your home. I spent quite a few very entertaining nights at Leo's Tavern with all of you and toured small venues in Donegal with you.. We're talking about 1973 thru 1975...
I have very fond memories of all of you, I must admit that I haven't been back to Ireland since 1975...
I've been digging around in my b&w negative archives, as soon as I find some time, I'll have a few prints made and send them. We were all very much younger back then !
Noel & Padraig taught me how to drink... Mind you, I was 16 back then...
Nick was still your sound guy and your younger sister had a lovely voice I fell in love with instantly... No wonder... Only heard her at your home with traditional songs though...
Oh these memories...
And no, I'm not the guy who always turned up with a huge bouquet of red roses after the concerts, even though I would have loved to...
All the best and kindest regards from Cologne !

Just to say hi - Posted by hmoy
it´s been like 10 years since i listened to your music for the first time. The thing is that i´m from Venezuela and celtic culture is definitly not too popular here, i tried to track down your albums with no succes, and that was about it, until last month i thought of searching the web for info about this band, and i was very pleased to know that this band still goes on....
Congratulations on a work VERY WELL DONE!!!!!!
your music is magical....
i´m a musician myself, a choir conductor and composer, and as a good listener i think i can recognize good things when i hear it, and your band is VERY GOOD!!
Bye, and keep making things as good as you have.....
