Albums » Banba

Release Date: 1993

Banba in 1973 was a more pop influenced record, whilst still retaining the Celtic influences that are the hallmark of Clannad's music. This is a blend of the new sound and the old and really shows how the band's songwriting has matured. Banba is in fact a romantic mythical name for Ireland, which is a reflection of how their musical journey has completed a full circle. One of the tracks "I will find you" was written for the movie "The Last of the Mohicans", which features Moya actually singing in Mohican and Cherokee.
